Questions & Answers

What benefits do you, and those around you, gain when you live by this code?

When I live by this code, I gain a positive outlook on life, as well as a peaceful life without the turbulence of drama and grudges against others.

What sacrifices do you make in order to live by this code?

I sacrifice the impulsiveness and pettiness that I can exhibit when upset or irritated. Being compassionate and empathetic allows me to understand where other people are coming from and consider their point of view.

Is this an easy code to live by?

I’d like to think so. I am creative in my everyday life, and I always try to separate myself from others, whether it is through my work or my personality. Empathy is something I try to use all the time, whenever I interact with others.

Do you expect others to live by your code?

I don’t expect others to live my code, because everyone is different and wants to lead a different life than mine.

Do other people demand that you live by theirs?

In my life, there are some people that have pushed me to share similar beliefs to them. However, I usually end up straying farther from what they expect of me, as someone trying to force me into a box I am not comfortable with will only make me want to stay truer to who I am.

Have you ever had, or can you foresee, a conflict when it would have been hard or even impossible to live by two of your own rules at the same time?

Of course. There are times when I want to be negative and really say what is on my mind, and be brutally honest. However, I know that doing that would only hurt those around me and negatively affect me as a result.

Based on what you know about medieval times, do you think your code would allow you to get along with people if you were magically transported back to that time?

I’m not entirely sure. I think the parts of my code about being empathetic and compassionate would work well with the people of medieval times, but the parts about individuality would not. The Middle Ages seem like a time where everyone was meant to do what they were told and that was it.
